Dr. Joyce Signs Police Pledge, Urges Law & Order

Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) signed Heritage Action’s “Police Pledge,” a commitment to support America’s police officers and law enforcement, as well as to oppose any legislative efforts to “defund the police.” Amidst recent attacks targeting police officers, Congressman Joyce is committed to supporting the law enforcement officers who have pledged to serve and protect our communities, as well as restoring law and order in American cities.

“In Pennsylvania and around the country, our law enforcement officers show up every day and put their lives on the line to protect our communities and keep us safe,” said Congressman Joyce. “It is reprehensible that American leaders are calling to defund these heroes. I will never turn my back on our police officers. As a nation, we must back the blue.”

The Police Pledge reads:

A lawful society—free from mob rule and violent insurrection—is not possible without Law Enforcement.

Police Officers have chosen a noble profession. They dedicate their lives to upholding the law and protecting the sacred rights of their fellow citizens. As a profession, they deserve support and respect.

I stand with America’s Police and pledge to oppose any bill, resolution, or movement to “Defund the Police.”

Congressman Joyce continues to fight for America’s police community. In today’s Homeland Security Committee hearing on “Worldwide Threats to the Homeland,” he asked FBI Director Christopher Wray to detail the bureau’s investigations into recent attacks targeting American law enforcement officers. Watch their exchange.

Earlier this week, Congressman Joyce took to the House Floor to condemn the horrific attack targeting two police officers in Los Angeles. Watch his full remarks.
