Rep. Joyce Announces U.S. Service Academy Appointment for James Buchheit of Fulton County
Chambersburg, PA ? Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) today announced that James Buchheit of Fulton County has been offered a full appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy for the class of 2025. James resides in Needmore and completed his high school coursework in 2020.
"It was my privilege to nominate James Buchheit of Fulton County to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy and I am thrilled that he has received an appointment to join the Class of 2025. Already, James has demonstrated a strong desire to serve our nation and the American people," said Congressman Joyce. "The service academy appointment process is highly selective and competitive. James' appointment to the Air Force Academy is a testament to his years of hard work and preparation. Congratulations to James and his family on this achievement, and I wish him every continued success."
All prospective students wishing to attend a service academy must by nominated by a Member of Congress or another U.S. official and then are rigorously evaluated by the service academies, which determine appointments. All appointments for the class of 2025 will be announced on a rolling basis throughout the spring.
In the fall, Congressman Joyce nominated 28 students from Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional district to attend the U.S. Service Academies. More information about the service academy nominating and appointment process is available here.
