Rep. Joyce Announces U.S. Service Academy Appointment for Luke Myers of Franklin County
Chambersburg, PA ? Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) today announced that Luke Myers of Franklin County has been offered an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy for the class of 2025. Luke resides in Chambersburg and is a student at Shalom Christian Academy.
"Congratulations to Luke Myers of Franklin County upon his appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy for the Class of 2025. Last fall, it was my privilege to nominate Luke and to recognize his strong desire to serve our nation. Through his exemplary preparation, Luke already has demonstrated a dedication to grow, lead, and serve," said Congressman Joyce. "The service academy appointment process is highly selective and competitive. I am thrilled that Luke has received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, and I commend him and his family on this great achievement."
All prospective students wishing to attend a service academy must by nominated by a Member of Congress or another U.S. official and then are rigorously evaluated by the service academies, which determine appointments. All appointments for the class of 2025 will be announced on a rolling basis throughout the spring.
In the fall, Congressman Joyce nominated 28 students from Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional district to attend the U.S. Service Academies. More information about the service academy nominating and appointment process is available here.
