Congressman Joyce Announces $50,000 Grant for Bedford County
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) announced that Bedford Township will be the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to replace Bedford County’s aging tractor.
“Bedford County is known for its rural and historic landscape, and this grant is a long-term investment in keeping our community healthy and beautiful,” said Congressman Joyce. “In Congress, I will continue to work to support our local officials and fund programs that have a direct and positive impact here at home.”
This grant is part of the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant program and is designed to provide affordable funding to develop essential facilities in rural areas.
Communities interested in learning more about how to apply for grants and loans under this program should contact Congressman Joyce’s office.
With this grant, Bedford County will be able to purchase a new, 4-wheel drive tractor and mower that will help service over 80 square miles of rural land and provide Township employees with a significant upgrade in quality, efficiency, and cost savings compared to the Township’s current equipment.
