Congressman Joyce Announces $650,000 Grant for Gettysburg Airport

August 25, 2022

Washington, DC – Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) announced that the Gettysburg Regional Airport would receive a $650,000 U.S. Department of Transportation grant to construct an apron for both arriving and departing aircraft. The apron is a vital part of facilitating safe and effective airport operations and will be used to maneuver and store aircraft while at the airfield.

"This new airport apron will enhance the quality of services that the Gettysburg Regional Airport and the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority can provide to the Adams County community," said Dr. Joyce. "Supporting our region's critical infrastructure is one of my top priorities in Congress, and I look forward to seeing more and more airplanes flying to and from Gettysburg."

The Gettysburg Regional Airport and the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority are receiving this grant as part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant program. The construction of the new airport apron will allow the Gettysburg Regional Airport to park more planes at any given time safely and facilitate a larger number of flights.
