Congressman Joyce Condemns Biden Administration Response as Inflation Grows

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, calling on President Biden and House Democrats to curb the runaway spending that has led to soaring inflation.

“The fact is—that President Biden has proven that he is unable to stop the runaway inflation that has raised the cost of housing, groceries, and gasoline for working Americans,” said Congressman Joyce. “The answer to this crisis won’t be found in more government handouts.”

Today, the Consumer Price Index revealed that inflation rose 0.1% in August, and core inflation rose by 0.6%, both higher than expected, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Inflation continues to erode Americans’ wages, with real hourly earnings dropping 2.8% over the year in August and real weekly earnings declining 3.4%.
