Dr. Joyce Announces $6.5M for Local Airports

October 6, 2020

Altoona, PA Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) has awarded grants to two airports that serve the people of Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District totaling more than $6.5 million.

"Our local airports offer important services to the people of Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District. As the aviation industry faces unprecedented challenges, these FAA Airport Improvement Program grants will provide much-needed support to the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport and the Altoona-Blair County Airport. Hardworking Pennsylvanians keep these airports running, and it is my privilege to support them in their work to serve our communities."

The Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Westmoreland County will receive $5,159,843 and the Altoona-Blair County Airport in Blair County will receive $1,411,352, which total $6,571,195. These grants include funding authorized by the CARES Act to assist local airports with recovery from the coronavirus crisis.
