Dr. Joyce Announces a $900,000 Grant for the Gettysburg Regional Airport
Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) announced that the Gettysburg Regional Airport would receive a $900,000 U.S. Department of Transportation grant to construct a new apron. The apron will be a critical component in facilitating safe and effective airport operations and will be used to maneuver and store airplanes while at the airfield.
"This new airport apron will enhance the quality of services that the Gettysburg Regional Airport can provide to the Adams County community," said Dr. Joyce. "Enhancing our region's critical infrastructure is one of my top priorities in Congress and I look forward to Gettysburg Regional Airport receiving this critical funding."
The Gettysburg Regional Airport and the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority are receiving this grant as part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant program. The construction of the new airport apron will allow the Gettysburg Regional Airport to park more planes at one time safely and facilitate a higher number of flights.
