Dr. Joyce Applauds CARES Act Relief for PA Airports

Altoona, PA Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) released the following statement on the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act Airport Grant Program grants awarded to airports that service the 13th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.

"In the CARES Act, Congress provided nearly $10 billion in relief to airports affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Our local airports provide valuable services to our community and employ a number of PA-13 constituents," said Dr. Joyce. "This assistance will provide direct support for the many Pennsylvanians who work in the air travel industry, and help our local airports keep their doors open during this unprecedented pause in our economy."

Grants to local airports include:

  • Altoona-Blair County Airport: $69,000
  • Bedford County Airport: $30,000
  • Franklin County Regional Airport: $30,000
  • Gettysburg Regional Airport: $20,000
  • John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport: $5,124,995
  • Arnold Palmer Regional Airport: $2,415,724
  • Somerset County Airport: $30,000
