Dr. Joyce Joins Members of the Pennsylvania Delegation to Honor Specialist Krystofer Lopez on the House Floor

Washington, D.C. – On March 18th, 2026, Representative John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), joined by Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (PA-6), Madeleine Dean (PA-4), Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), Mike Kelly (PA-16), Dwight Evans (PA-13), Dan Meuser (PA-9), Glenn Thompson (PA-15), Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-5), Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14), and Chris Deluzio (PA-17), shared a moment of silence on the House floor in honor of the life and service and Specialist Krystofer Lopez, who passed away on March 12th, 2026, following a training exercise at Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.

“Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to speak out of order. Mr. Speaker, with a heavy heart, alongside my colleagues from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I rise today to honor the life and service of Specialist Krystofer Lopez, who passed away on Thursday, March 12, following a training exercise at Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
Specialist Lopez answered the call to serve early by enlisting during his junior year of High School at Biglerville High. He was driven by a deep love of country and a sense of duty that truly defined his life. He served as a military police officer and as a Personnel Force Innovation member with the 947th Quartermaster Company.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln in the Gettysburg Address, Specialist Lopez gave his “last full measure of devotion,” and for that, we as a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, we as a country, and we as a community are forever grateful.
It has been said that our flag does not fly because the wind moves it, but with the last breath of those who defend it. Specialist Krystofer Lopez now rests among those heroes.
