Joyce to use House leadership roles to bring lasting change to South Central Pennsylvania
Washington, D.C. – During the 119th Congress, Representative John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) will serve as Vice-Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and as Co-Chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus, allowing Dr. Joyce to take a lead role in advancing healthcare, energy, and telecommunications policy efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“It is an honor to serve as Vice-Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee and as Co-Chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus for the 119th Congress,”said Congressman John Joyce, M.D. “This is a great opportunity to work with Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie, and my fellow Doctors Caucus Co-Chair Greg Murphy, to increase access for my constituents to high-quality health care, affordable energy, and high-speed broadband. Through these positions, as a physician legislator, I will be able to bring positive lasting change to the lives of the constituents of Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional district.”
“I am excited to name Congressman John Joyce the Vice Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Dr. Joyce is a good friend, a trusted colleague, and a dedicated conservative who has shown his commitment to developing real solutions to the issues facing the American people. The jurisdiction of the Energy and Commerce Committee is vast and John is a proven leader across the board and will be my right hand as the Committee seeks to restore American energy dominance to lower energy costs for everyday Americans, protect Americans’ access to life-saving treatments, and ensure America leads the development of technological innovation and wins the race with China to 6G. I look forward to hitting the ground running with Vice Chair Joyce helping to lead the way for the American people,” said Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Guthrie.
During the 119th Congress, Dr. Joyce will serve on House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittees on Health, Communications and Technology, and Environment. Joyce served on all three subcommittees during the prior 118th Congress. Dr. Joyce is the only Member of Congress from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to serve on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce or the GOP Doctors Caucus.
“My roles on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the GOP Doctors Caucus will allow me to better advocate for the constituents of Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, as I work to stop the scourge of fentanyl throughout Pennsylvania, kickstart Pennsylvania’s energy sector, and increase broadband access throughout the region,” added Congressman Joyce. “It is an honor to work with my colleagues and the Trump Administration to pass common sense solutions to help fix the issues that affect the families and communities of South Central Pennsylvania the most.”
