Dr. Joyce, Rep. Davis Introduce Resolution to Designate November as National Bread Month

November 24, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Congressional Baking Caucus co-Chairs Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) and Congressman Don Davis (NC-01) have introduced H. Res. 847, a resolution to designate November as “National Bread Month.”

“Commercial baking has played a vital role in ensuring our communities have access to affordable, nutritious food,” said Congressman Joyce, M.D. “As families across the nation gather this month to break bread and give thanks for our many blessings, I can think of no better time to recognize the hard work and dedication of our farmers, bakers, and all who work to ensure that all American families have access to healthy, accessible grain foods this Thanksgiving and all year round.”

“From family tables to local bakeries, bread has long been a symbol of community and tradition in America. The commercial baking industry not only keeps this tradition alive but also fuels our economy by providing affordable, nutritious food options and good-paying jobs across eastern North Carolina and the nation,” said Congressman Davis. “During National Bread Month, the Congressional Baking Caucus celebrates the hardworking men and women who help bring this daily staple to our homes.”
