Dr. Joyce Statement on PA’s Reopening Update

October 6, 2020

Altoona, PA Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) issued the below statement on Governor Tom Wolf's announcement that a number of Pennsylvania counties will proceed in the reopening process. Within the 13th District of Pennsylvania, the counties of Adams and Cumberland will transition into the green phase on Friday, June 12.

"It's encouraging that Adams and Cumberland Counties are among those set to transition into the green phase next week. This is welcome progress, and I continue to urge the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be forthcoming about its metrics and plans for the reopening process. The Pennsylvanians who remain in ?yellow' counties deserve to know where they stand.

"During the reopening process, my top priority is to get Pennsylvanians back to work safely. As we saw in the May jobs report, the U.S. economy is moving in the right direction and we're on the road to recovery. The Great American Comeback is going to take a team effort, and we must continue our shared fight to get our economy back on the right track."

Additional details about the phased reopening plan are available from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
