Joyce to Co-Lead China Task Force Panels on Technology & Competitiveness
Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) will serve as co-chair of two panels of the China Task Force, Chairman Michael McCaul (TX-10) announced today. The five focus areas of the China Task Force, which were identified by the members, include National Security, Technology, Economics and Energy, Competitiveness, and Ideological Competition. The only physician on the task force, Dr. Joyce will join the Technology and Competitiveness panels.
"As the China Task Force reviews our nation's military readiness and economic posture against the Chinese Communist Party, it is an honor to help lead efforts to advance America's technology edge and bolster our competitiveness. The United States must lead in innovation. As the only doctor serving on the China Task Force, I am focused on strengthening and protecting our supply chain for pharmaceuticals and other medical equipment so that Americans are never beholden to a hostile regime for vital supplies. This critical work requires a comprehensive approach, and I am looking forward to working alongside fellow members of the China Task Force to deliver results for the American people."
Background:
