Read his full remarks:

Today, September 11th, we remember what happened 18 years ago in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, here in Washington at the Pentagon, and of course, in New York City. Our resolve is to fight terrorism, which is why I serve you on the House Homeland Security Committee.

But today, we pause. We remember these families. We pray. We ask for guidance and courage to continue the fight against terrorism.

What happened 18 years ago what happened in Somerset County, here in Washington, and in New York City will not be forgotten. We realize what has occurred to our country, and I have the resolve to continue to fight terrorism here in Washington.

Today I ask that you pray with me for the victims of 9/11, and for the safety and security of all Americans.
