Joyce Welcomes Congressional Art Competition Winner To U.S. Capitol
Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) today welcomed Reagan Bush of Central High School in Martinsburg to the U.S. Capitol. Reagan is the winner of the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.
andldquo;It was a great privilege to welcome Reagan and her parents, Nancy and Wayne Bush, to the Capitol.andrdquo; said Congressman Joyce. andldquo;We received many fantastic entries to the competition this year and each piece was breathtaking and showed the artistic talent that is present in the 13th District. Reagan's artwork will be seen by thousands of visitors who travel to Washington during the next year and I am incredibly proud of her accomplishment.andrdquo;
Reagan's winning artwork, andldquo;Field of Honor,andrdquo; is a vibrant chalk pastel piece depicting the Tower of Voices at the Flight 93 Memorial. Reagan's artwork will be displayed in a special exhibit in the U.S. Capitol for one year with winners from each congressional district across the country.

andldquo;Reagan's art teacher at Central High School, Heather Trimeloni, needs to be acknowledged for her guidance and encouragement as well,andrdquo; added Joyce.
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, more than 650,000 high school students have participated in the nationwide competition.
This year's annual competition began on March 11th and concluded on May 24th.
