MEDIA ADVISORY: Dr. Joyce and Sen. Mastriano to Hold Veterans Assistance Event
Washington, DC – Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) and State Senator Doug Mastriano (SD-33), Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, announced they will be hosting a Veterans Assistance Event next Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at VFW Post 1599 in Chambersburg.

“Our nation owes a debt of gratitude to all those who have served in the Armed Forces,” said Congressman Joyce. “This event is an opportunity to answer questions and hear from the Veterans who call Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District home, and I look forward to working with Senator Mastriano to serve our constituents and host this important event.”
“As Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee and a 30 year Army veteran myself, it’s my top priority to ensure we take proper care of Pennsylvania’s veterans who served our nation. I look forward to joining Congressman Joyce at this event to share the good work we are doing at the state level to help those who fought for our freedoms receive the utmost care, benefits and services they have rightfully earned,” said Senator Mastriano.
The event will include updates from Congressman Joyce and Senator Mastriano on the work being done on Veterans issues at the federal and state levels. Along with Congressman Joyce and Senator Mastriano, the event will include remarks and information from Martinsburg VA Health Center Medical Director Kenneth W. Allensworth, FACHE, and VA Public Affairs and Outreach Team Member Deborah Griffith to assist Veterans with issues ranging from disability payments to receiving medals earned while serving in uniform.
