Rep. Joyce Leads MS4 Roundtable with EPA and PA DEP

October 6, 2020

Chambersburg, PA This morning, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) held a roundtable discussion with Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) Regional Administrator Cosmo Servidio, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), and community leaders to discuss municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) stormwater permits.

"Burdensome MS4 regulations have negatively affected PA-13 communities, and I am committed to finding a commonsense solution to this problem," said Congressman Joyce. "By bringing the EPA, the Pennsylvania DEP, and municipal representatives to the same table, we were able to learn from one another and identify possible solutions for MS4 regulations. It was a productive conversation, and I am optimistic that this roundtable discussion will spur the EPA and DEP to work together to deliver results for our community. Cutting through red tape is an important part of my job, and I am dedicated to helping the people of PA-13 succeed."

Implemented by the Obama Administration, MS4 regulations disproportionately harm smaller communities, including a number of municipalities in Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District.

Participants in today's roundtable, which was held at the Franklin County Area Development Corporation in Chambersburg, included representatives from Antrim Township, Chambersburg Borough, Greencastle Borough, Greene Township, Guilford Township, Washington Township, and Waynesboro Borough.
