Altoona, PA Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) today announced that 23 students from Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District have received nominations for the U.S. Service Academies. These students, if they receive an appointment directly from an academy, will have the opportunity to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, or the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.

The measure Joyce and his neighbor GT Thompson (PA-15) introduced today, the Chronic Wasting Disease Research Act (H.R. 2081), would authorize an additional $15 million in grant funding to states, institutions of higher education and other eligible entities that are invested in researching a cure for Chronic Wasting Disease.
