Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) announced that Bedford County, Pennsylvania would receive a POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce Economic Revitalization) Initiative grant for $745,588 from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The funding will be used to support economic diversification and empower job growth.

Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) announced that Juniata College would receive a collaborative research grant for $138,607.00 from the National Science Foundation. The funding will be used to further research led by Dr. Katy Johansen to help improve students' spatial reasoning skills through the use of Virtual Reality training.

Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) announced that the Gettysburg Regional Airport would receive a $900,000 U.S. Department of Transportation grant to construct a new apron. The apron will be a critical component in facilitating safe and effective airport operations and will be used to maneuver and store airplanes while at the airfield.

Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) condemned the Biden Administration's failure to protect American citizens who currently remain stranded in Afghanistan following the American Military withdrawal.

"As I speak today, Americans are stranded behind enemy lines. Our top priority must be to bring them home safely," said Dr. Joyce. "Now is not the time for taking vacations or giving canned remakes from the West Wing. Now is the time for American leadership, and President Biden has failed in that regard."

Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) released the following statement on the collapse of the Afghan Government and President Biden's failure in leadership during this crisis.

"President Biden's press conference today was a failed attempt to absolve himself and his administration of the brutal realities of the situation in Afghanistan. His failure to make our withdrawal orderly has led to violence and destruction that puts our national security, and American lives, at risk."

During this difficult time, I am deeply grateful for the heroic work of the firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and police officers who responded to the scene to care for the injured and to protect our community from further damage.

Washington, DC Today, Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13) challenged a potential ban of all PFAS substances that would prevent secure chemical disposal and curb the innovation of safer products.

In a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, Dr. Joyce argued for a science-grounded, risk-based approach that identifies the most harmful chemicals and treats them as such, rather than regulate the whole family of chemicals as a single group.
