The House Homeland Security Committee, on which Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) serves, held a hearing today regarding the use of National Guard troops at the southern border. During the hearing, United States Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost testified to Joyce that the Pennsylvania National Guard would "certainly" help law enforcement better secure the southern border.

The House of Representatives on Monday evening passed H.R.2142, Congressman John Joyce's bipartisan bill to ease regulatory compliance burdens for small businesses. Joyce teamed up with his House Small Business Committee colleague Anthony Delgado (D- NY) to introduce the legislation.

Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) today introduced bipartisan legislation to reduce the costs of prescription drugs by making generic medicine more quickly accessible to consumers. Joyce teamed up on the Ensuring Timely Access to Generics Act of 2019 with Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) and the companion version of the bill was introduced in the Senate earlier this April by Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA).

Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) tonight released the following statement commending President Trump for his address on the humanitarian and security crisis at the southern border:

Our nation is preparing for the potential spread of the coronavirus, which began in China and has affected people across the world. Also called COVID-19, this virus can cause respiratory illness with symptoms including fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Currently, experts believe that these symptoms, ranging from mild to severe, may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) today opposed a portion of the House rules package, which allows Democrats to sue to keep the Affordable Care Act in place. Title III of House Resolution 6 authorizes the Speaker, on behalf of the House, to intervene, otherwise appear, or take any other steps in Texas v. United States, a recent federal court case where the 2010 healthcare law was ruled to be unconstitutional.
