During today's House Homeland Security Committee hearing Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testified to Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) that additional physical barriers are necessary to stop the flow of illegal drugs into the country and combat the drug epidemic in Pennsylvania.

Earlier this week, the House Small Business Committee voted to pass bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) and Congressman Antonio Delgado (NY-19). Joyce's proposal, H.R. 2142, would make it easier for small businesses to comply with onerous federal regulations.
House Democrats today voted to pass H. Res 430, legislation to give them further authority to continue their efforts to relitigate the Mueller Investigation. The resolution, passed entirely on party lines, will allow the House Judiciary Committee and other House panels to enforce its subpoenas on Trump administration officials such as Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn.

The House Homeland Security Committee, on which Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) serves, held a hearing today regarding the ongoing situation at the southern border. During the hearing, Joyce described the urgent need to fix the loopholes in the immigration system that are perpetuating the crisis. He also questioned Department of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan about the effectiveness of the National Guard troops currently stationed at the southern border and whether bolstering the National Guard's presence at the border will help combat illegal immigration.
