Congressman John Joyce (PA-13), a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, today issued the following statement after opposing H.J. Res 46, a measure that disapproves of President Trump's emergency declaration to secure the southern border:
"Two facts are abundantly clear we have a crisis at our southern border and the President has the legal authority to declare a national emergency to address it.
Congressman John Joyce (PA-13) yesterday was in Somerset where he spoke with members of the media about the ongoing trade negotiations between the United States and China. Joyce pointed out that China has been taking advantage of the United States for far too long and that President Trump's new tariffs are tools that will bring China to the negotiating table and will produce a deal that will benefit the American economy in the long run.
